Autumn Term

Details of what we will be covering in each area of the curriculum can be found in the curriculum map (see attached).

Our class novel this term is Varjak Paw. Children are welcome to bring in any personal copies but please don’t read ahead at home!

Homework

It is an expectation that children are read with regularly at home (both reading themselves and being read to). Please record reading in children’s reading diaries. If children record at least four reads a week at home they will receive a star for their star charts. Children should bring their diaries into school on Mondays for me to check and sign.

Children will be set a weekly maths and spelling homework on Fridays that will be to consolidate the learning they have done in school that week. This should be completed and returned the following Friday. Feedback will be given to children verbally in school and all those that complete the task will be rewarded with 20 house points and stars for their charts.

Children also have access to EdShed where they can play games to reinforce their learning. This is not set as homework. The platform can be accessed on any device, including phones. Children have their login details in the reading diaries. 

PE

PE will continue to be on Mondays and Wednesdays when children must come to school wearing their PE kit which includes a  t-shirt in their house colour (not football shirts please).

Outdoor Learning

We go to Forest School on a Tuesday Afternoon. Please ensure your child has appropriate clothing, including waterproofs and wellies.
