Autumn Term

As you will be able to see on our curriculum map, Autumn term is full of exciting learning.  In English we will follow a theme of Prehistoric Wonders!  History will see us exploring changes within living memory – such as a world with no mobile phones!  Science will involve exploring humans and animals, including our senses.
This year our curriculum involves a mixture of formal learning and play based learning through continuous provision.

Homework

It is an expectation that children are read with regularly at home (both reading themselves and being read to). Please record reading in children’s reading diaries. If children record at least four reads a week at home they will receive a star for their star charts. Children should bring their diaries into school on Fridays for us to check and sign.
Phonics homework will be added to Google Classroom and children in Year 2 who are no longer working on the phonics programme will be given spelling homework on a Friday, on paper.

PE

PE will continue to be on Mondays and Wednesdays when children must come to school wearing their PE kit which includes a  t-shirt in their house colour (not football shirts please).

Forest School

Forest School is on Wednesday afternoons. Children need to come into school in their PE kit and bring long trousers and old clothing and boots to change into.  We go in all weathers, apart from strong wind, so please ensure clothing is appropriate for the weather that day.  Please make sure everything is clearly labelled with names.
