Spring Term

Details of what we will be covering in each area of the curriculum can be found in the curriculum map (see below).

Our class novel is Glitter Boy. Children are welcome to bring in any personal copies but please don’t read ahead at home!

Homework

It is an expectation that children are read with regularly at home (both reading themselves and being read to). Please record reading in children’s reading diaries, if children record at least four reads a week at home they will receive a star for their star charts. Children should bring their diaries into school on Mondays for me to check and sign.

This year we are using the online platforms Spelling Shed and Maths Shed. Children will be set a weekly activity on each on Fridays that will be to consolidate the learning they have done in school that week. The platforms can be accessed on any device, including phones. Children have their login details in the reading diaries. Feedback will be given to children verbally in school and all those that complete the task will be rewarded with 20 house points and stars for their charts.

PE

PE will continue to be on Mondays and Wednesdays when children must come to school wearing their PE kit which includes a t-shirt in their house colour (not football shirts please).

Forest School

Forest School is on Fridays this term. Children need to come into school in school uniform and bring long trousers and weather appropriate coats and boots to change into. Please make sure everything is clearly labelled with names.
